THE administration of Mayor Thamar Olaivar and Vice-Mayor Christopher Tutor is pushing for “no vote-buying campaign,” reminding all candidates in the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) come October 30, 2023.

Vote-buying and vote selling are strictly prohibited and punishable under the election law.

The mayor said in her facebook post that the call for “no vote-buying,” dubbed “One Candijay, Way Hatagay and Way Daotay” started with a mass at the St. Joseph Catholic church of the town.

The ultimate activity was the covenant signing after the unity walk and the celebration of the holy mass, the mayor said.

The campaign of “no vote-buying” for this year is the second following the first call of Congresswoman Alexie B. Tutor way back in 2018 barangay elections.

“Maka proud sa atong mga Candijaynons nga tanang candidates naki usa sa niining panawagan,” the mayor said. (I am proud that all candidates made unity for the call).

The mayor added, “I pray for the success of this endeavor for the 2nd time around as this was unanimously agreed upon by your leaders in Candijay, with the blessing of course of our CongW. Alexie Tutor.”

The mayor expressed gratitude to the people of Candijay “for your heart to serve our fellow Candijaynons.”

She also wished that “may the calling and purpose of our Heavenly Father prosper in your life.” (rvo)
