CORRUPTION, Corruption, and Corruption!
This ten-letter word has been occupying the air lanes for the last few months. The print media is also having a “fiesta” on the same issue. Not only one media outlet in the province is enjoying the topic. Almost all are on it.
And, worse, the same commission is not only once. It seems to be unabated. It is always continuing.
Various reactions, for or against the issue, are also noted from among the fellow Boholanos!
And, in Short Cuts’ almost daily tour in the province, it has come to his attention that this particular concern had already reached the ears of majority of the Boholanos.
Even those from the mountain barangays!
They are now well-informed.
Therefore, with this information now obtaining in our midst, what’s next?
Shall the ever brave Boholanos – the descendants of Dagohoy – remain silent?
To the media men, stop howling on the air and in the provincial weekly newspapers. Go for the next move.
And, the move is ……
GO TO THE LEGAL ASPECT OF THE ISSUE!
File the appropriate criminal action against these officials!
And, if cases had already been filed, make a follow up on these cases. To Short Cuts, this is a better option rather than always shouting over the air lanes without let up.
This is Short Cuts’ brotherly advice.
The most disgusting fact on the issue – if ever news report on the air and on print as heard and read – is the issue on the purchase of motorcycles executed by these provincial government officials early last year.
These concerned government officials are seemingly considering the Boholanos to be IGNORANT.
Why?
Accordingly, the items were acquired through a bidder who is NOT a Boholano. The winning bidder is a resident in one of the provinces in Luzon.
And the WORST ANOMALY — the winning bidder of the same transaction does not have a business dealing on sales of motorcycles.
The most disgusting and abhorring portion on this issue is:
Nganong mi-abut man sila sa Luzon pagpangita ug motor? Wa ba di-ay taga Bohol namaligya dinhi ug motor?
Dili ba kini dakung tamparos natong mga Bol-anon? It is as if, these government officials, WAY PAGSALIG NATONG MGA BOL-ANON.
So, if such is the case, NGANONG MOSALIG PA MAN KITANG MGA BOL-ANON nila?
Seriously, think of these!
It is believed that majority of our brother Boholanos are already well-informed that these provincial officials are already facing cases in Court and the Ombudsman. In fact, even before occupying provincial elective positions, Boholanos knew of complaints for misdemeanor in previous higher offices against these public officials.
These concerned personalities remain unperturbed despite the growing demands for adequate corrective measures. They seem to be beyond correction. They are acting exactly opposite of the constitutional mandate “Public office is a public trust”.
Repeat, make a follow-up!
One should not only rely on the mass media. Go to other options.
