Former Tourism Secretary Richard Gordon on Tuesday said the Department of Tourism (DOT) should “mitigate the damage” caused by the controversial tourism promotion video for the Philippines, which used stock footage from other countries.
Gordon said also described the blunder as “toxic but salvageable.”
It can be recalled that the department concerned was embroiled in controversy during its release of the brand new “Love the Philippines” slogan after it received flak from the public who pointed out that it contained clips from Thailand, Indonesia, and United Arab Emirates; wherein, instead of showcasing the wonders of the Philippines, the video shows wonders from these countries. A sign of deception and fraud.
However, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, this week, said that the DOT will continue to use the controversial tourism slogan “Love the Philippines,” despite backlash from the public. (AJDB)
