THE Bohol Provincial Environment Management Office (BPEMO), through the Waste Management and Pollution Control Division, played a vital role as a resource person in a three-day training for Solid Waste Management enforcers from June 22–24, 2023, at the ABC Hall, Poblacion, Ubay, Bohol.
The activity, organized and facilitated by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Ubay, aimed to enhance the enforcers’ capabilities in effectively implementing and enforcing the regulations outlined in Republic Act No. 9003 and the local Solid Waste Management (SWM) Ordinances. These include the specific Anti-Plastic Ordinance of LGU-Ubay.
BPEMO provided technical assistance to empower enforcers through extensive seminars on solid waste management, which they describe as an effort towards a cleaner and more sustainable environment by equipping the enforcers with the necessary knowledge and skills to tackle waste management challenges and ensure compliance with environmental laws.
