City Government organizes employee
activities for Charter Day celebration

IN celebration of its upcoming activity, LGU Tagbilaran has organized a series of activities aimed at promoting camaraderie, well-being, and community engagement among its City Hall employees.

As part of its festivities, the city’s employees were treated to a day of pampering with free hair color and makeup tutorial. The “Pa-anyag sa GUGMA” event held at the City Hall atrium on June 16, 2023, provided a fun and relaxing environment for employees to refresh their looks and boost their confidence.

During the event, the participants also received free make-up kits.

The self-development activity was conducted in partnership with L’Oréal Philippines, Philippine Business for Social Program, Samahan ng mga Pilipina para sa Reporma at Kaunlaran, Inc. (SPARK!) Philippines and the Tagbilaran City Glam Team.

In addition to the beauty sessions, an interdepartmental sports fest kicked off on the same day with a parade and program where the employees, dressed in their respective team colors, showcased their enthusiasm and unity as they marched from the Tagbilaran City Hall grounds to the Rajah Sikatuna Avenue then back to the City Hall compound and finally to the event venue at the Saulog Gymnasium.

The kick off program was attended by vice mayor Adam Relson Jala, chief of staff John Geesnell Yap II, Department Heads, athletes and coaches. In her speech, mayor Jane Yap expressed her enthusiasm for the Charter Day activities organized for the employees.

“Our employees are the backbone of our city, and it is important to show our appreciation for their hard work and dedication. These activities not only promote a positive work environment but also provide opportunities for our employees to bond, stay healthy, and contribute to the betterment of our community,” Mayor Yap stated.

Employees from different departments will be competing in various sports activities to include basketball, volleyball, badminton, lawn tennis, table tennis and billiards until June 30, 2023.

In addition, the City Government will be holding “GUGMA para sa Tagbilaran” volunteering activities on June 19-30, 2023 to engage employees in activities that will allow them to express their gesture of “giving back” to Tagbilaran City.

The employees will be participating in tree planting and clean-up activities as part of their commitment for community involvement and environmental stewardship. These initiatives aim to enhance the city’s aesthetics, create a cleaner and greener environment, and instill a sense of pride among the employees.
