Dauis Mayor forewarns no salary for 100 JOs

BULLEN & SUMAYLO

SOME 100 job order (JO) employees of the Municipality of Dauis will only receive their salaries until June 2023.  This is due to the non-passage of the town’s supplemental budget.

Dauis Mayor Roman Bullen bared that the municipal council led by Vice Mayor Marietta Sumaylo received her request for Supplemental Budget No. 1 on January 6, 2023 amounting to P12, 998,000, but accordingly, until today, it has not been approved.

Bullen added that even his request of P1-million intelligence fund was not also approved by the council.

The mayor cited “political colors” or “political obstructionism” that is being played at the council.

Only one councilor is politically aligned with the mayor.

The rest of the councilors, including the ABC president, and SK municipal federated president are allies of the vice mayor.

Sumaylo and the SB members concerned are yet to issue their respective statements on the matter.
