CITY Mayor Jane Yap signed the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Youth Development Alliance of Tagbilaran City (YDATC) of which she is the assigned chairperson. The same day is also the first regular meeting of the alliance for the year. Full members of the alliance, including youth representatives, joined Mayor Jane during the signing.
The signing of the IRR of YDATC firms up the plans and programs for the out-of-school youth in the city. YDATC will soon be able to offer a range of opportunities for further studies, livelihood, and employment as second chances for our youth.
Further, the assistance of the USAID (United States Agency for International Development) Opportunity 2.0 will capacitate the Alliance members to craft development plans that are more OSY (out-of-school youth) inclusive. A local labor market assessment was also done through the program, which identified industries in Tagbilaran City with the most opportunities to offer the youth. Further profiling is also underway to gather up-to-date data on OSY in Tagbilaran.
YDA members both from the public and private sectors will integrating these data and information in the Strategic and Annual Plan, matching each YDA member’s capabilities and resources through a series of sessions in future planning activities. (Jeanette Busano)
