Tagbilaran partners with DSWD to give financial assistance to PWDs

110 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) from Tagbilaran City’s 15 barangays became the recipient of the Cash for Work Program of the DWSD. For a period of 10 days, the PWD recipients will take on tasks in the City Government which would be paid. City Mayor Jane Yap fully supports the cause of the PWDs. In fact, during the pandemic, the local chief executive prioritized the PWDs in the roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccinations.

 Further, various financial assistance was also given to empower the PWDs in the City. In the 6-year Comprehensive Development Plan drafted this year, several programs and projects for the PWDs were lined up, led by the establishment of the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) within the City Hall Compound (with organic restaurant, massage. and display center), an Information Education Campaign to engage the Most Vulnerable Groups (MVG) in local governance, and Provision of assistive devices for indigent PWDs.
