Modern streetlighting project shines brightly in Tagbilaran City

The modern street lighting in the Bool-Dampas Road, Tagbilaran City

CITY Mayor Jane Yap, Chief of Staff Baba Yap, Engr. Felito Francisco, and Brgy. Kagawad Alberto Pinos led the street lighting along Bool-Dampas Road on January 5, 2023. Various street lighting projects were completed in Tagbilaran City. In April 2021, the streets in Tamblot and B. Inting Streets were completed, followed by the lighting in M. Parras, M. Torralba, H. Zamora, and P. Castillo Streets which wrapped up in June 2022.

These modern streetlights provided a number of important benefits to the community, the foremost of which is the promotion of security in urban areas. This sense of security increases the quality of life since meaningful activities could still take place. Streetlighting also improves safety for drivers, riders, and pedestrians.  It should be remembered that in 2018, major thoroughfares were already lighted which jumpstarted in Graham Avenue, CPG North to Brgy. Ubujan, Petron Dampas to NFA, CPG East Avenue Caltex station to Bool-Baclayon Boundary, and Enerio Street to Dampas Elementary School.

Mayor Yap has also been focused on providing sound infrastructure ever since she assumed the top post in the City Government. To date, out of the 90.71 km. which needs to be concreted in Tagbilaran City, the City Engineering Office has concreted 61.47 kilometers of road, not to mention the drainage system which was put in place in strategic areas.  (Jeanette Busano)
