THE brightest and merriest of seasons is now around the corner. The City Government of Tagbilaran welcomed the Yuletide Season with an array of lights as bright stars lighted up the entire City Hall Building.
City Mayor Jane Yap and Vice-Mayor Atty. Adam Relson Jala led the lighting ceremonies, with the Most Reverend Bishop Abet Uy, Provincial Administrator Aster Caberte, Provincial Board Members Atty. Benjie Arcamo, Lucille Lagunay, and Aldner Damalerio, Atty. Abeleon Damalerio, Acting City Administrator Cathelyn Torremocha, Sir Chief Baba Yap, and City Councilors Jonas Cacho, Ondoy Borja, and Atty. Butchie Zamora joining the celebration.
City Mayor Jane Yap said it is just fitting to celebrate this Christmas Season with style since Bohol was not able to celebrate it in the last two years with the COVID-19 pandemic on the midst and Typhoon Odette which ravaged Bohol on December 16, 2022.
“Our celebration this year holds such meaning after experiencing major calamities in the past two years. We have highlighted the stars as the centerpiece of our Christmas Decorations to symbolize hope and light. Amidst these trying times, we need not lose our track and we should continue to nurture our hope. We have also made this occasion meaningful to the children as the whole City Hall Family prepared games and goodies for the kids,” Mayor Jane Yap said.
The occasion also witnessed the blessing of the nativity scene and the advent wreath.
The dancing fountain remains to be the highlight of the decorations outside the building, along with the lighted pathway prepared by the Alturas Group of Companies.
The decorations inside the City Hall were handled by each department. The first floor carried the white-themed decorations, the second floor showcased the green colors, while the third floor is Christmas red.
The General Services Office located in the Agricultural Promotions Center carried a yellow-themed Christmas décor. The City Government also adorned the whole of CPG and Rajah Sikatuna Avenue with Christmas lights. (Jeanette Busano)
