GOVERNOR Aris Aumentado has put importance to the need of healthcare services for Boholanos when he graced the inauguration of the 5-storey Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center (GCGMMC).
He said in his short speech that the buildings are a “towering symbol of our aspirations towards a healthy Bohol and a monument to our pride towards our public institutions.”
He added that the new edifice will increase the medical capabilities not just the healthcare services.
Assuring the medical personnel of provincial government’s support, Aumentado expressed appreciation to the medical personnel who were frontliners during the pandemic.
Congresswoman Kristine Alexie B. Tutor, who also graced the inauguration, also expressed her gratitude to the men and women of the GCGMMC for their services to the people.
Tutor, vice-chairperson of the health committee of the House of Representatives, has pushed for the upgrading of the hospitals, owned and managed by the provincial government of Bohol.
She said in exclusive interview that she’s pushing for upgrading of the Candijay Community hospital by the bill she filed increasing the bed capacity of said hospital from 10 to 70.
Tutor has filed House Bill No 2598- Increasing the bed capacity of Cong Simeon Toribio Memorial Hospital in Carmen and HB 2535 – Increasing the bed capacity & upgrading the Teodoro Galagar Hospital in Jagna.
GCGMMC officially opens its new 5-storey and services building on Friday, December 09, 2022, at Tagbilaran City.
GCGMMC chief Dr. Mutya Tirol-Macuno welcomed the guests in her speech after the blessing of the buildings by Rev. Fr. Raymund Pantinople and Pastor Manuel Lupio, which led after a tour inside the building with dignitaries, medical staff, and invited guests.
Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap was also present at the event and gave a message about committing to helping GCGMMC’s upcoming projects.
Other guests include 1st District representative Edgar Chatto, 3rd District representative Alexie Tutor, Undersecretary of Health Usec. Camilo Cascolan, Director IV- Health Facilities Enhancement Program Dr. Leonita Gorgolon and Bauan Mayor Antonino Jumawid, Garia-Hernandez Mayor Jess Baja and Candijay Mayor Thamar Olaivar.
