IN a bid to resuscitate the pandemic-crippled Bohol tourism industry, second district Congresswoman Vanessa “Vanvan” C. Aumentado vigorously promoted Bohol’s tourism to the world, particularly in Turkey during her mission with other tourism officials.
Aumentado, wife of Gov. Aris Aumentado, has been in Europe to participate in the Türkiye Tourism Roadshow and Uzakrota Travel Summit 2022 in Intanbul, Turkey.
“We did a presentation of the Tourism Sites we have in the Phils. and of course dala-dala gyud nato kanunay ang pagbida pod nato sa atong Probinsya sa Bohol. There was a Product Presentation also done particularly in the field of Education,” she said in her facebook post.
Included in the travel was the “business-to-business” event in different parts of the country bounded by Asia and Europe.
The delegation is headed by Philippine ambassador to Turkey Maria Elena Algabre and Dr. Paulo Tugbang, director of product and market development of tourism and Consul Joy, Cong. Cindi Chan sa Lapu-lapu City, Cebu and other officials of the Department of Tourism (DOT).
During the product presentation, it was attended by various travel agencies, Turkish press/media and marketing officers and airlines companies, such as Saudia, Qatar Airways, Emirates ug Oman Air.
Aumentado took advantage of the opportunity by encouraging Turkey to study English language in the Philippines, particularly in Bohol.
“Gi-imbita nato sila nga moskwela for English sa Pinas & of course hopefully there will be a school na sad in Bohol na mo offer ug ESL so we can get the Turkish Market,” she said.
(We invite them to learn English in the Philippines and hopefully we’ll have to offer English as Second Language (ESL) for Center for Premier International Language Studies in Bohol, as well).
Gov. Aumentado earlier said that he also encouraged South Koreans to tour in Bohol during his travel there recently.
Bohol has been featured in recent holding of recent tourism expo in Manila apparently to boost Bohol’s campaign for more visitors to come to bounce back from hiatus during the over two years of pandemic.
Just last week, the Little Singers of Paris, known as “Les Petits Chanteurs á la Croix de Bois” in France performed the choral music concert dubbed “Songs From The Heart” at the centuries-old Loboc church on December 2, 2022.
Domestic tourist influx is also on the rise. The official Misamis Oriental media office personnel paid a courtesy call to the governor’s office where chief of staff Atty. Jun Amora and Ms. Elma Teurel, Provincial Information and Media Office (PiMO) head received them. (rvo)
