Tagbilaran City inks MOU with DHSUD

TAGBILARAN City showed its commitment to the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) “Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino: Zero ISF Program for 2028” through a Memorandum of Understanding between DHSUD as represented by Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar and the City Government of Tagbilaran as represented by City Mayor Jane Yap.

Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino: Zero ISF Program for 2028 is a program initiated by the DHSUD which targets to build one million housing units per year or a total of six million housing units for six years.

The City Government of Tagbilaran committed to identify and allocate parcel of land for the development of the housing project. Both agencies will pool together their technical, financial, and manpower resources for the development of the housing project.

The DHSUD will facilitate, either directly or through its Key Shelter Agencies (KSAs), the implementation of the housing projects in collaboration with the LGU and other agencies.

The City Government of Tagbilaran on one hand will be responsible in identifying the land suitable and safe for the program. The LGU should comply with the technical, financial, and documentary requirements as required by the program. The LGU is also in charge in the processing of all the required permits and licenses. It is also responsible in the selection of the beneficiaries which will also include social preparation, socio-economic profiling, and establishment of the social parameters. (Jeanette Busano)
