AT long last, the last of the BER months of the year has come!
Of the four BER months in a year, December is the happiest and the most joyous month of the year.
This is Short Cuts’ observation.
And, it is hoped that this is not only Short Cuts’ opinion but should be the feeling of every Christian.
The whole universe is not only celebrating the birth of our Savior and Redeemer. It is within this month that we are always reminded that the feeling of love should be addressed to everyone and the forgiving of all the sins that have been committed to their loved ones, most specially to one’s parents.
Even to your enemies, show to them that you love them. For, it is Biblically said, “Love your enemies”.
For, who is that person so brave enough to say that he had not sinned against his parents and his fellowmen? To say so, is in the highest degree of pretenses, devoid of truth and reality.
More emphasis should be given to one’s political enemies. More often, political opponents hardly come into terms after a political exercise. They seem to forget that they had been friends for so long a time had it not of an election.
They, too, forget that even our Heavenly Father loves the sinners. As the source of love and compassion, He, the Heavenly Father, provides everyone the strength to forget the past and focus more importantly on one’s life for his future.
To Short Cuts’ advice to these types of politicians, “AYAW NA INTRA UG POLITIKA”.
On this score, therefore, Short Cuts is suggesting to the incumbents in the Provincial Capitol to forgive the wrongdoings, if ever there were, of the past administration.
Lastly, Christmas is gift-giving; it is also gift-receiving.
“No one is too poor to give”, everyone is Biblically reminded.
Whether in cash or in kind, everybody is expected to give this Christmas season.
But what if a person is bereft of cash or in kind for him to give?
What can he give as his gift?
Even how lowly a person is, he has that capacity to give something to anyone as his Christmas gift. He may not be capable of giving any cash as his gift to everyone, but his SMILE alone given to everyone he meets can easily be transformed as his Christmas gift.
To Short Cuts, this is more significant and lasting. It can easily be remembered and endeared.
