OWNER beneficiaries of the Armed Forces of the Philippines /Philippine National Police (AFP/PNP) Housing Phase 2, who have fully paid and executed the Deed of Sale of their units in Songculan Dauis, can now get their individual Transfer of Certificate of Titles.
This is according to National Housing Authority (NHA) Bohol Field Office chief Grace V. Solis.
The NHA implemented the low cost housing units named Saint Michael Village in Dauis and has successfully put up 500 attached units, intended for the AFP and PNP.
Later, the housing units were also offered to men in the uniformed service, and the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and the Bureau of Correction members were also allowed to get their units.
The housing, single attached units, can be upgraded into a two-storey compact house to allow for more floor space and expand the house’s living and working areas.
Priced at a very easy and affordable P300 a month, payable in 30 years, the houses as build had provisions for power and water utilities, but needed the final tapping to get the beneficiaries into moving in.
Finished years back, Saint Michael Village developers however have to make some slight design adjustments and corrections to fit into the requests of awarded owners, and they have almost completed all requests, NHA Solis said.
Despite the tantalizingly low amortization, the lack of power and water connection has discouraged some beneficiaries, who have backed out.
With the unclaimed units, the NHA in a Senate Joint Resolution No 2, the government has authorized the NHA to award to other qualified beneficiaries the un-awarded housing units, those awarded units that are not yet occupied, as well as those units that were surrendered by their beneficiaries resulting to its cancellation.
Owing to the resolution, NHA in Bohol has allowed low-earning government employees from Dauis Municipal Hall to benefit from the housing program.
Some 20 local employees have since been given the chance to get the unclaimed and unoccupied units.
With the development, NHA is now asking anybody who can pay in cash, ”we can already facilitate for their title, and for phase 1, we are expecting the soonest possible time, the developer can submit it to the NHA,” Solis bared.
Moreover, she announced that beneficiaries do not need to go to the banks to pay.
“We already have a cashier in our office at the [NHA] Bohol District Office, they can immediately come and pay and immediately get their official receipts,” she said.
