TRAFFIC bound for Tagbilaran City via Carlos P. Garcia North Avenue is rerouted, so expect the bulk of traffic to flow in Taloto-Booy Road to Gallares Street or Taloto – Dao to downtown via Jose Arsenio (JA) Clarin.
And by all means, motorists and commuters for downtown Tagbilaran from the north have to find ways to skirt Carlos P. Garcia North road from Bohol Wisdom School to Caltex Gas Station, the said section of the highway is under construction.
That outbound section from downtown between DBP to Wisdom, for now has been designated as a one way route until the end of the section under road repair.
In a request for Public Service Announcement, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) District 1 Engineer John Paul Gascon, said that in line with the Infrastructure Dissemination program of the DPWH, the locally funded infrastructure project would start and a traffic reroute would be implemented from Friday, August 26, 2022, onwards.
Such reroute is because of the construction and repair activities, which include removal of existing concrete pavement which has major scaling and shattering slabs, owing to the softened sub-base due to the flooding in the area.
Moreover, the project activities would also include surplus common excavation, subgrade preparation, unreinforced Portland Cement concrete pavement laying for the 0.28m thick slabs, which also requires at least three days of curing period for the concrete to attain the required and designed strength.
Within the duration, inbound traffic to downtown Tagbilaran is rerouted to Booy and Dao, while those that have reached the areas near Wisdom can take the right turn at Estaca Street to Penaflor and rejoin the inbound route at the DBP.
This route along Penaflor might also be closed as soon as the construction works move to that section near DBP. (RAHC/PIA-7/Bohol)
