Boholana costume design victors bared

TRIBU Mamugnaon grabbed the grand award and most of the major, major prizes of the Boholana 2022, a premiere costume competition launched by Isang Dugo Foundation as part of the Sandugo 2022 celebration.

The tribe led by Charlow Cielo Arbastro got the P100,000.00 grand prize. It tapped Bianca Gaviola as the first Miss Boholana 2022 model.

The Royals and Likhang Kamay Collaboratives romped the first and second runner-up, pocketing P50,000.00 and P35,000.00, respectively, organizers said.

Consolation prizes were pegged at P5,000.00 apiece.

Tribu Mamugnaon also clinched other awards: Best Photography, Best Videography, Miss Silka Aura, Miss Beautywise and Miss Cosmetic Asia, according to TJ Medrana fb post.

According to Conresswoman Van-van Cadorna Aumentado fb post Boholana 2022 “A showcase of Boholano designs & creations. A celebration of Boholano talents, beauty, creativity, artistry & craftsmanship.”

Vanvan, the former Miss Bohol who witnessed the show held at Bohol Cultural center, said she’s “Proud of our Boholano designers and will always be proud to be a Bohalana .”

Vanvan, wife of Governor Aris Aumentado expressed gratitude to the provincial Gov’t of Bohol led by his husband Gov Aris Aumentado, Vice-Gov Dionisio Victor Balite, Members of Sangguniang Panlalawigan and the organizers for a job well done.

Also Vanvan’s words of gratitude go to Isang Dugo Foundation, Inc. headed by Atty Nunag & Vice Chairman Engr. Albert Uy and the benevolent sponsors.

“Kudos to all our designers, models, hosts Pauline Amelinckx & Arneil Kadusale and all the people who made this event possible.” Amelinckx, former Miss Universe-Philippines charity, and Kadusale were host of the event.

According to provincial government of Bohol fb page: “BOHOLANA: A Bol-anon Inspired Costume Design Competition between local artists and creatives showcasing a costume that depicts the icons of Bohol.”

“The objective of this competition is to discover and expose the creativity of Boholano artists in crafting masterpieces using the rich culture and natural resources of Bohol.”

The participants are: Iconique Minds – Depicts White sand beaches of Bohol; Balilihan Events Artist Team – Inspired by the Raffia Cloth; Team Candijay – Chocolate Hills inspired design; Tribu Mamugnaon – Inspired by Indigenous Nito; Likhang Kamay Collaboratives – Inspired by the intricacy of Antiquera Baskets; The Royals – Inspired by the Historic Ancestral Houses of Bohol; Perfunas Incantation Inspired by the wide-eyed Bohol Tarsier; AJ’s Obra Production – Inspired by the thriving Bohol Agriculture Industry; Dauntless Rainbow Advocates of Getafe – Inspired by the beauty of the underwater Bohol coral reef; Alpha Cat Creation – Inspired by the original Asin Tibuok ; and Mugna De la Jagna – Inspired by the Historic Bohol Churches.
