GOVERNOR Aris Aumentado led the groundbreaking of the P100 million diversion road in Talibon town on Saturday.
The governor was assisted by Congresswoman Vanessa Aumentado, his wife, and Talibon Mayor Janette Garcia, witnessed by officials and engineers of the Department of Public Works and Highways 2nd engineering district based in Ubay town.
The multi-million infrastructure project is expected to decongest the growing traffic in main street of the town, thus shortening the travel time for fisherfolk and farmers bringing their produce to the public market, Aris said earlier.
The governor said that the project was then the dream of his father, the late Governr Erico Boyles Aumentado.
The source of fund for the said project is the General Appropriations Act of 2022 under the “Convergence and Special Support Program – Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SPAG). Access Roads And Or Bridges From National Roads Leading To Major Strategic Public Buildings/Facities – Construction Of Diversion Road Leading To Seaport, Talibon, Bohol”.
The Aumentados expressed gratitude to former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for the “Build Build Build Program” that includes the afore said project.
Both also thanked the DWH 11led by Engineer Jun Valle, Garcia, Poblacion Barangay chairman Panfilo Sumalinog and San Francisco charman Sabino Garcia for the support to the project. (rvo)
