BOHOL earns national recognition for its employment initiatives after being named Best Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in the 1st Class – Province Category and a national nominee for the National Search for the Best PESO Awards during the 26th National PESO Congress.

The three-day congress, held on October 14–16, 2026, at JPark Island Resort and Waterpark Hotel in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, brought together over 1,200 employment stakeholders, PESO managers, and local chief executives from across the country.

Anchored on the theme “Kaunlaran sa bawat Komunidad, Oportunidad sa bawat Mamamayan,” the gathering highlighted the importance of strengthening local employment services and expanding access to opportunities for every Filipino.

Led by Provincial PESO Manager Maria Vilma Yorong, the department head of the Bohol Employment and Placement Office – Public Employment Service Office (BEPO–PESO), continues to strengthen employment facilitation, skills matching, job placement, and livelihood assistance to bring employment opportunities closer to Boholanos.

The recognition reflects the continuing efforts of the PGBh to promote accessible employment services and support sustainable livelihood opportunities across the province.

It also reinforces the Capitol’s Strategic Governance Roadmap, particularly its priorities on Human Capital Development and Social Protection, as well as Good Governance and Institutional Excellence under the leadership of Gov. Aris Aumentado.
