THE City Government of Tagbilaran, through the City Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (CEDIPO), produced 22 graduate entrepreneurs after successfully holding its first-ever MSME Academy.
The culmination program was held on September 28, 2026, at JJ’s Seafood Village, marking a milestone in the city’s efforts to strengthen local entrepreneurship.
The month-long academy equipped participating micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with practical knowledge, skills and confidence to sustain and grow their businesses.
It started with an intensive two-day learning program, followed by specialized training sessions.
A highlight of the culmination was the presentation of the participants’ outputs for the Business Enterprise Assessment.
The participants were guided by three panelists, five host enterprises and five business counselors from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), who provided technical insights, mentoring and support throughout the program.
CEDIPO Head Atty. Vincent Louie Raotraot led the office during the culmination activity, which also recognized the accomplishments of the participants.
Representing Mayor Jane Yap at the event was City Administrator Alvin Luis Acuzar, who conveyed the city government’s support for local entrepreneurs and its commitment to creating opportunities for MSME development.
With the completion of the first MSME Academy, the 22 participants transitioned from trainees to graduates, now equipped with additional tools and perspectives to manage their respective enterprises.
Through this initiative, the City Government of Tagbilaran reinforced its support for the local MSME sector by bringing together government agencies, business enterprises, experts and entrepreneurs in a collaborative learning environment aimed at building more capable and sustainable local businesses.
