THE Tagbilaran City Coliseum has reached another major construction milestone with the completion of its roof truss installation.
Mayor Jane Yap announced the development, signaling continued progress on one of the city government’s flagship infrastructure projects.
In a public update posted on her official Facebook page, Yap said the project has now moved to the next phase.
Roofing installation is scheduled to follow the completion of the structural roof framework.
The coliseum is envisioned as a modern multipurpose venue which will be capable of hosting sporting events, concerts, conventions, exhibitions, and other large-scale gatherings.
The facility could also position Tagbilaran as a stronger destination for regional and national events.
Mayor Yap said the facility is expected to generate broader economic benefits once operational.
These benefits will particularly help sectors that rely on visitor activity, including public transportation, hotels, restaurants, and other local businesses.
“Every beam installed brings us one step closer to a world-class venue where we can proudly host local, national, and even international sporting events, concerts, conventions, and other major gatherings,” Yap said.
She added that increased event tourism could create additional livelihood opportunities.
It could also stimulate local economic activity across multiple sectors.
The mayor highlighted that the project continues to advance while Tagbilaran City maintains its zero-loan status.
She emphasized the city government’s effort to pursue major infrastructure development without resorting to borrowing.
The Coliseum is among the major projects being pursued during Tagbilaran’s 60th Charter Anniversary year.
In the same update, Yap disclosed that she had secured additional assistance and development programs for Tagbilaran.
