Japan inaugural flight lands Panglao international airport FIRST FLIGHT

TAGBILARAN CITY – The first of Cebu Pacific Airbus 320 for Panglao International airport, about 1 km. from here, had its inaugural flight, landing this afternoon (May 2, 2026) from Narita airport, Japan, office of the governor said.

The said flight that brought some 163 passengers boosted Bohol as the prime eco-tourism destination in the country.

Governor Aris Aumentado welcomes the Japanese visitors with Japanese Consul-general Yudai Ueno, Japan consulate in Cebu City. The said visit of the consul-general also to strengthen the relations between Japan and Bohol.

The said first Cebu Pacific flight is also a step forward of establishing the airlines commitment to bring in more Japanese tourists to Bohol.

Bohol is trying its best to promote and bring in more tourists and showcase Bohol as the one and only UNESCO Global Geopark of the country.

With the governor in welcoming the flight was Provincial Tourism Officer Joanne Pinat.

Bohol posted last year some 1.4 million visitors, according to the provincial tourism office. (Ric Obedencio)
