VICE-GOV. Nick Besas bared that the provincial government swung into action by providing financial assistance to the hog raisers in the province, whose hogs were not spared from the dreaded African Swine Fever (ASF).
He said that he personally helped facilitate the giving of said assistance to the ASF-laden raisers.
He was accompanied by Gov. Aris Aumentado and Board Member Jamie Villamor in providing a total of P1,520,000.00 cash assistance to the 152 families affected by the ASF in the towns of Buenavista, Inabanga, Ubay, Pres. Carlos P. Garcia, Danao and Talibon.
Each family received ₱10,000 thru the help and facilitation of the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (OPSWD) and Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV).
He said such assistance is to show that the provincial government is ready to support its constituents in times of crisis.
He also accompanied Gov. Aris Aumentado in the service caravan courtesy of the Capitol in the island of Jao, composed of three barangays — Busalian and Suba in Talibon and Pinamgo, Bien-Unido town. Bohol.
“Bisan pa man sa kalayo sa uban natong mga dapit, gipakita sa atong Kapitolyo nga walay barangay o isla nga mabiyaan kon serbisyo na ang hisgutan. Kini nga inisyatibo ubos sa Abante Bohol program ni Governor Aris Aumentado, nagtinguha nga mapadangat ang serbisyo sa gobyerno ngadto sa mga dapit nga nanginahanglan gayud.”
(Despite the distance, there should be no barangay be left behind. The governor, who initiated this caravan, is always trying his best to bring the government to the people’s door where the need is non-negotiable).
The governor and vice-governor expressed thanks to the staff, doctors, volunteers, and the officials of Talibon and Bien-Unido for the cooperation and assistance for this endeavor. (RVO)
