OUR national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, once said, “The youth is the nation’s hope.” The statement of Rizal is true. The youths are the hope of our country. It is because they are young, active, energetic, and talented. They are cap can do things for the people, the community, and the country in general. They have this vigor and strength, which makes them able to do something for the country. The future of our country lies in the hands of the youths since they will be leading our country in the future. The kids can help our country in the future. They are the hope of the nation.
However, the youths also need something for them to be able to do what they are supposed to do for our country. They still need other individuals to be developed and for them to be influential leaders of the country in the future. These individuals include their family, loved ones, teachers, friends, and others, who can help them become responsible citizens of the country and eventually become the best leaders during their time. They still need the help, support, and guidance of everyone surrounding them since they are still young this time.
First. They need their family’s help, guidance, and support. Family is the essential support system for the youths. The family should be the first one to help and support our children today. The character or personality of someone is being developed first at home. The talents and skills of the children are also first set at home. So, our youths’ families and other loved ones must be there to help, guide, and support them. The family should be the first to show their help and support to our youths.
Second. Teachers in school must also show support to our youths since our children are also spending their time in school. Teachers play a significant role in the lives of our kids. Most of the time, our youths are in school for their studies. That is why teachers must also be supporting our children. They can develop the God-given talent and skills of the children. They can use these talents and skills of the youths in the future. So, teachers must develop the talents and abilities of the kids in school. Aside from that, teachers must also teach the students or the children the different lessons in real life, not just those found in books. In doing this, our youths will be developed to be responsible citizens of our country and eventually become influential leaders in the future.
Third. Church leaders can also show support to our youths. Yes, priests, nuns, and other church leaders are also needed to help and support our youths. It is because the spiritual or religious aspect of the youths must also be developed. The youths should also be taught different lessons concerning their respective religions or beliefs. From time to time, they should be advised by priests, nuns, and other people in the church about what they must be doing. In doing this, the youths will not be doing anything illegal or immoral since they are supported and guided by the people in the church.
Fourth. Government officials must also be showing their help and support to our youths. It is because they are also playing an essential part in the lives of our youths. God-given talents and skills of the youths can also be developed with the help of our government officials. Government officials must also be making laws that can help our youths grow themselves. They can create programs and projects intended for the development of our youths. The government must also be giving its full support to us youth especially those in the Sangguniang Kabataan. Instead of teaching these officials to do illegal and immoral things, they should be leading or guiding our Sangguniang Kabataan officials in doing what the right thing to do is. In doing this, the youths will be learning everything they can use if ever they will become the country’s leaders.
Fifth. Other people in the community can also help make our youths become good citizens of our country and good leaders in the future. They must be helping our children in everything they will do, for as long as those things are for the good of everyone and not illegal and not immoral. If ever the youths will be doing a program or a project in their respective community, they must be extending their help and support to the children. In doing this, these people in the community can help develop the talents and skills of the youths, and they can use them when they already become leaders of the country in the future.
Everyone must be helping and supporting our youths. If everyone does this to our youths, our youths will be developed holistically. Meaning to say, every aspect of our youths’ lives will be designed, such as the children’s physical, emotional, social, spiritual and spiritual aspects. All these aspects must be developed among our youths to become responsible citizens of our country and for them to become good leaders of our country in the future.
Hopefully, the youths are not doing illegal and immoral activities. If they are doing those things or activities, the love, help, guidance, and support are useless since they are not doing good. They are doing something that can destroy themselves. How can they become responsible citizens and good leaders in the future if they are doing illegal and immoral activities now? So, youths must be doing those things so that the help and support from the people around them will be taken for granted and will become useless. Aside from that, if the youths are doing well at home, in school, in church, in the community, and in the country, every individual surrounding them will surely be ready to help and support them anytime.
So, let us all help and support the youths today. Let us all develop them holistically to become good citizens and leaders of our country. Together, we can make this happen.
