THOUSANDS of city residents benefited from a free medical mission conducted from February 6 to 8, 2026, through the joint efforts of the No One In Need Foundation, Inc., the City Government of Tagbilaran, and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tagbilaran, despite disruptions caused by Typhoon Basyang.
Due to the inclement weather brought by the typhoon, medical services on February 6, 2026 were carried out at various evacuation centers, prioritizing displaced families and residents affected by the storm.
As weather conditions improved, the medical mission continued from February 7 to 8, 2026 at the Saulog Gym, accommodating a larger number of beneficiaries.
The three-day activity provided a wide range of free healthcare services, including adult and pediatric medical consultations with free medicines and vitamins, eye examinations with free reading glasses, blood sugar testing, dental services such as tooth extraction, physical therapy, and circumcision services.
Organizers said the medical mission aimed to bring essential health services closer to residents, particularly those with limited access to medical care, while responding to the immediate health needs of families affected by the typhoon.
Mayor Jane Yap expressed her gratitude to the partner organizations for their support and timely assistance.
“We sincerely thank the No One In Need Foundation, Inc. and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tagbilaran for their compassion and continued partnership. This medical mission has greatly helped our constituents, especially those affected by Typhoon Basyang, and reflects our shared commitment to public service,” Mayor Yap said.
The mayor also acknowledged the dedication of the Tagbilaran City Primary Care Facility personnel, volunteer doctors, nurses, and support personnel whose collective efforts ensured the smooth and successful implementation of the activity.
The City Government of Tagbilaran reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnerships that promote accessible, inclusive, and people-centered healthcare services for all Tagbilaranons.
