City Hall turns over essential vehicles for better
services as it continues to empower barangays

GRATEFUL.  Big THANK YOU to the City Government of Tagbilaran! Barangay Dao officials received a brand new Tamaraw FX emergency vehicle and garbage truck as part of the Barangay-Based Development Project  Strengthening waste management and emergency response, one barangay at a time!

CITY Mayor Jane Yap announced through her official Facebook page the successful turnover of garbage trucks and Tamaraw FX emergency vehicles to several barangays in Tagbilaran City, as part of the city’s Barangay-Based Development Project.

Mayor Yap said the distribution of the vehicles is aimed at bringing government services closer to the people by making such services faster, more accessible, and more effective, particularly in the areas of solid waste management and emergency response at the barangay level.

“These vehicles will significantly improve the delivery of basic services in our communities. When services are closer and response time is faster, the people benefit directly,” Mayor Yap said.

The project is 100 percent funded by the City Government of Tagbilaran and implemented under a zero-loan policy, underscoring the city’s commitment to responsible fiscal management while prioritizing essential public services.

Under the program, Barangays San Isidro, Mansasa, Dao, and Bool each received one Tamaraw FX vehicle and one garbage truck.

Meanwhile, Barangay Ubujan and Barangay Poblacion 2 were each provided with one Tamaraw FX, while Barangay Dampas received one garbage truck.

City officials noted that the newly turned-over vehicles will enhance barangay capacity in addressing emergencies, improving sanitation, and maintaining cleanliness.

Mayor Yap emphasized that the initiative reflects the city government’s continuing focus on empowering barangays as frontline service providers.

“This Barangay – Based Development Project is about strengthening our communities. When barangays are equipped, services become more responsive, and governance becomes more meaningful for every Tagbilaranon,” she added.

The city government assured that similar initiatives will continue as part of its long-term goal of sustainable development, efficient service delivery, and improved quality of life across all barangays in Tagbilaran City.
