BOHOL Governor Aris Aumentado assured the Boholano public that the work on the third bridge connecting Tagbilaran City and Panglao-Dauis Island will continue and be completed.
This is the latest development after the Governor personally followed up with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Central office recently to provide funding for the completion of the project that was started during the time of former Governor Edgar M. Chatto.
Engr. John Paul Gascon, chief of the DPWH Bohol 1st district who was with Aumentado in following up with the DPWH Central office, told that the schedule for the bid opening is December 2, 2025.
Gascon revealed that the initial funding of 5 billion pesos has been secured to begin work on the main span of the bridge.
The French government will finance the project, with their contractor participating in the bidding, Gascon said.
Gascon also added that the new design of the Panglao-Tagbilaran City Offshore Bridge Connector is similar to the design of the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX).
PLO Head Atty. Handel Lagunay also attended the same. (RTB)
