The Office of the Governor of the province has an unpaid hotel bill worth more than P8M!
This was incurred at a hotel in Panglao!
How true is the information? And, how reliable is the info?
This issue was relayed to Short Cuts barely three days ago.
The informant?
No less than a high ranking official in the provincial government!
Therefore, this could be reliable.
It was further informed that the same unpaid hotel bill began when the governor himself vacated the Governor’s Mansion – his official residence – after Typhoon “Odette”.
He preferred a flush hotel in Panglao over a government-provided facility!
This ballooned further when he was preparing – days after Odette – for his failed reelection bid. So many pretentious diehard supporters stormed the area with no other goal in mind but for the retention of the crown!
Unfortunately for the GASTADOR government official, he failed.
The Boholano electorates won – the widest margin ever recorded in the field of politics.
Be that as it may, these two queries can aptly be asked:
No. 1. If every descendant of Dagohoy considers this issue as a fact, who will be at the losing end? Diba kita ra pong tino-ud nga mga Bol-anon?
No. 2. And, who will be at the vantage point? Diba ang GASTADOR nga government official ra pod?
At the start, this GASTADOR government official – Short Cuts firmly believes – has been sporting his proverbial ear to ear sarcastic smile. This could gleaned on the mistaken belief that once he gets reelected and obtains the majority in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, everything could be OK.
For it is definite that this issue needs legislative act from the provincial legislative body in the form of a supplemental budget.
As a former presiding officer of the provincial legislative body, Short Cuts is aware of this.
But, this case is basically different as of the moment.
Why?
This GASTADOR government official is now a political lame duck!
Consequently, he has no more convincing power to speak of. It is readily understood that HHH
his words, his voice to the Provincial Board Members are already nothing to them. This can only be likened to the “voice in the wilderness”. He can only be heard, but devoid of compliance and implementation.
That is, if our duly elected and reelected Board Members will be using their heads wisely!
Otherwise, the hard earned money of the poor brother Boholanos paid to government in the form of taxes are extremely wasted.
Short Cuts earnestly hopes for the intelligent minds in the present membership in our Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
“Be judicious on the issue. Do not betray the trust and confidence reposed on you by the electorates.”
These are Short Cuts reminders for you to remember and serve as your guide for the next three years in service!
