
NATIONAL Teachers and Employees Cooperative Bank (NTECB), is a cooperative bank based in Mabolo, Cebu City (Corner M. J. Cuenco Avenue and Juan Luna Avenue, Brgy. Mabolo). It was organized primarily by public school teachers, in Region VII-Central Visayas, but is operating as a banking/co-financial institution open to a wider client base. It is licensed as a bank/cooperative bank: It was granted authority by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on May 24, 2001, and operations began June 2, 2001. It is registered with the Cooperative Development Authority.
October 30, 2025 provided another milestone for the bank as it inaugurated the newly-furnished extension building. The new ATM was also launched, to be operational for the service of the teachers and other clients.
The activity started with a Holy Mass with Msgr. Vicente L. Tupaz Jr, as the celebrant. The blessing of the newly-renovated extension building was conducted.

In his message, Chair Recarido G. Borgonia recalled that the idea, “the bank is owned by teachers and operated by professionals” was the major concern during the conceptualization of the bank. New core banking system is being adopted.
Opening of the new core banking system was conducted by the four NTECB Board of Directors, SDS Nimfa Bongo, SDS Bianito A. Dagatan, SDS Andales, and SDS Rheamar Angtud. RBPay mobile app was first launched by Oliva, Rances, Rheamar Angtud.
Kiddie Savers Program anchored on Financial Literacy, for the young learners, where NTECB could provide assistance in molding the youth, was launched by Dir. Aniano T. Bautista Jr., Dir Johnroy Ravina, Dir Shiela Dela Cruz, Dir Belinda B. Maravilla, and Dir Ma. Maya V. Tumalon. RBPay Representative Kiddies Savers, paved the way for the young to have the concept of savings. She encourages that online provision of “baon”, be considered.
DepED Region VII Director, RD Salustiano T. Jimenez, expressed his words of gratitude to Chair Borgonia and Vice Chair Oliva as part of those who started the bank’s operations. This day’s event is about the renewal, innovation, and commitment for the bank’s clients-the teachers. NTECB has provided teachers financial empowerment and hope for the teachers. Through loans, financial literacy and banking programs, the bank has provided a lot of opportunities for the teachers. The bank is ensuring faster, safer, and the value of savings.
