Mayor Balite gives importance on public market reconstruction

MAYOR BALITE

VALENCIA Mayor Dionisio Neil A. Balite has enumerated programs and projects under his watch, especially giving importance of the public market reconstruction during the 156th foundation celebration last October 27, 2025.

“Valencia Business Center, our newly renovated and soon fully operational public market. This project is more than a structure—it is a symbol of rebirth,” he said.

The Valencia Business Center “represents hard work, partnership, and the shared dream of a thriving local economy. To our vendors, our farmers, our fisherfolk—this market is for you. To our entrepreneurs and small business owners—this is your home of opportunity.”

Another meaningful step to dig deeper the story of the town, Mayor Balite is set to create next year the History Research Team since “we cannot move forward without knowing where we come from.”

“And as your Mayor, standing before you with deep pride and gratitude, I say this with all my heart: The story of Valencia is not done. The best chapters are yet to be written. Together, we will build, we will rise, and we will conquer—kay kita, mga Valencianhon, dili gyud magpabiya!

The mayor eyes in 2026 that his administration will focus and will be stronger than ever on programs that uplift the people by citing the following programs that Valencianhons deserve. These are: (1). Women’s Livelihood Program – empowering women with skills, capital, and confidence to start their own businesses;  (2). Youth Scholarship and Leadership Program – ensuring that every talented student, regardless of background, can chase their dreams; (3). Senior Citizens Wellness Centers – giving our elders spaces of joy, care, and community; (4). Farmers and Fisherfolk Assistance Program – providing equipment, seedlings, and resources to strengthen our agriculture and fisheries sector;  (5). Cultural Development Fund – supporting our festivals, artists, and youth groups to keep our traditions alive; and (6). Disaster Resilience Program – because a truly victorious Valencia is one that is always andam ug lig-on in times of challenge. These programs embody what it means to serve: not just to build a better Valencia, but to build better lives.

With this in mind, Balite is optimistic and hopeful to achieve his program and projects that built Panangatan, which ‘sang-at’ may catapult Valencia to greater heights.

Every success of fests, projects, and program that his administration may achieve belong to everybody, farmers, fishermen, teachers, workers, youth, women and elders, not his alone, Mayor Balite said. (Ric Obedencio)
