
THE City Government of Tagbilaran officially launched the 2025 Cooperative Month Celebration on October 6, 2025, with a motorcade and opening program held at the City Hall Atrium.
With the theme “Cooperative United in Purpose and Action, Sharing Prosperity to Build a Better World,” the celebration expresses the vital role of cooperatives in promoting shared growth, sustainability, and community empowerment.
The motorcade started at the City Hall Grounds passing through key city thoroughfares including CPG Avenue; St. Joseph Cathedral; JA Clarin St. and Island City Mall. This activity showcased the unity and spirit of collaboration among Tagbilaran’s cooperative members and stakeholders.
Immediately after the motorcade, an opening program followed. Tagbilaran City Administrator Mr. Alvin Luis Acuzar delivered the welcome message, highlighting the City Government’s continued support for the growth of cooperatives.
Ms. Ma. Condrada Fuentes, Provincial Cooperative Development Coordinator, delivered the statement of purpose, reaffirming the province’s commitment to empowering the cooperative movement.
In her message which was delivered by City Administrator Acuzar, Mayor Jane Yap emphasized the importance of cooperatives as partners in inclusive local development.
“Our cooperatives embody the true spirit of bayanihan and shared prosperity. The City Government values your continued contribution to our community—by working together, we build not only stronger organizations but also a more resilient and progressive Tagbilaran City,” Mayor Yap said.
Representatives from 16 cooperatives based in Tagbilaran City attended the opening ceremony, signifying their active involvement and support for this year’s celebration.
In her closing message, Ms. Adelfa Salutan, Head of the City Livelihood and community Development Unit and designated City Cooperative Development Officer expressed her gratitude to all who participated in the several activities lined up for the month, including capacity-building sessions and training workshops to further enhance the skills and sustainability of cooperatives.
The Cooperative Month celebration serves as a meaningful reminder of the power of unity, cooperation, and shared purpose in building a stronger, more prosperous Tagbilaran City.
