THE City Government of Tagbilaran formally opened the month-long celebration of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held on September 1, 2025 at the City Hall Atrium.
This year’s theme, “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing para sa Bayan,” celebrates the dedication and invaluable contributions of government workers.
Inspiring messages were delivered by City Administrator Alvin Acuzar and City Mayor’s Office Chief of Staff Cathelyn Torremocha, who spoke on behalf of Mayor Jane Yap.
Both underscored the importance of recognizing public servants as modern-day heroes whose passion and commitment drive the progress of Tagbilaran City.
Mayor Yap, in her message of support, emphasized: “Our employees are the backbone of this city government. Every act of service you render whether big or small, translates to meaningful change in the lives of our people. I assure you of my continued support as we work together to build a more responsive, compassionate, and excellent city government.”
The month-long observance features a lineup of activities designed to honor, motivate, and engage city government employees.
These include:
* Employees’ Day and Self-Care Session – September 5,
* HR Symposium – September 12,
* Employees’ Fair and Zumba Day – September 19
* Employee Recognition Program – September 26.
During the Employees’ Day on September 5, hundreds of city government employees availed themselves of free services such as haircuts, manicure, pedicure, massage, and other pampering activities—an initiative to promote wellness and appreciation for the workforce.
To add fun and camaraderie, weekly activities such as Theme Outfit Tuesdays and Palaro Thursdays have also been scheduled throughout the month.
Through these activities, the City Government not only celebrates the milestone anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service but also emphasizes its commitment to nurturing the well-being, growth, and recognition of its workforce.
The opening ceremony marks the start of a meaningful month that pays tribute to all “Lingkod Bayani” whose unwavering service continues to shape a stronger and more resilient Tagbilaran City.
