Tagbilaran job fair opens opportunities here and abroad

THE City Government of Tagbilaran, under the leadership of Mayor Jane Censoria Cajes Yap and Vice Mayor Adam Jala, successfully conducted the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) – Local and Overseas Job Fair on August 16, 2025, at the Covered Court of Barangay Poblacion I, Tagbilaran City.

The career expo was spearheaded by the City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) headed by Mark Borja, in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

Out of the 206 registered applicants, 9 were successfully hired on the spot and 61 were considered near-hires.

According to Borja, the turnout highlights the continuing demand for employment opportunities in both local and overseas markets.

The City PESO actively sourced job vacancies from 18 participating employers.

Local employers included Allied Care Experts Medical Center–Bohol, Alturas Group of Companies, Amira Land Development Corporation, Amorita Resort, Bohol Primeland Corporation, Bohol Quality Corporation, Des Strong Motors, Inc., Du Ek Sam, Inc., Jollibee Foods Corporation Franchise–Bohol, LABB Construction Development, Inc., Multi Access Cooperative, Reyna’s The Haven & Gardens, Sagility Philippines, and Fortune Group of Companies.

Meanwhile, overseas opportunities were offered by Golden Gateway International Manpower Services, Inc., Jebsen PTC Maritime, Inc., Non-stop Overseas Employment Corporation, and Triple One Human Manpower Resources Corporation.

Mayor Jane Yap emphasized that this initiative reflects the city government’s dedication to creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for Tagbilaranons.

“Through this Job Fair, we are bringing employment and livelihood opportunities closer to our people. This is part of our commitment to ensure that no Tagbilaranon is left behind in the pursuit of a better future,” Mayor Yap said.

The City Government of Tagbilaran assured that regular job fairs and more livelihood initiatives will be held, reflecting its strong partnership with national agencies and the private sector in empowering the local workforce.
