QA provides standards, specifications, and requirements. QA also is concerned of continuously reviewing and improving processes, products, and services. By adhering quality assurance processes, organizations can ensure that their products, services, or processes meet the required standards, leading to improved quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Conducting quality assurance in the Department of Education (DepEd) is crucial to ensure that the education system delivers high-quality services and meets the needs of its stakeholders. Here are some reasons why quality assurance is necessary. DepEd’s Quality Assurance Division monitors and evaluates the performance of regional and schools division offices to ensure compliance with statutory and policy standards, promoting accountability and transparency. Continuous Improvement: Quality assurance helps identify areas for improvement, enabling DepEd to refine its processes, policies, and programs, and make data-driven decisions to enhance education delivery.
Quality assurance promotes standardization across regions and schools, ensuring that all students receive a high-quality education, regardless of their location. – ISO 9001:2015 Certification: DepEd’s pursuit of ISO 9001:2015 certification demonstrates its commitment to quality management and continuous improvement, which can enhance its reputation and credibility.
DepEd Region VII, conducted QA activity for the IPlans developed for grades 1,4,and 7 classes. This was conducted at the Applied Nutrition Center (ANC), Banilad, Cebu City on July 13-16, 2025. iPlans can be a valuable tool for teachers to ensure quality delivery of learning and teaching processes. By using iPlan, DepEd enhanced the quality of education in the Philippines and ensure that students receive the best possible instruction. The twelve divisions of ROVII were assigned to quality assure developed by the IPlan writers from the different SDOs.
ROVII Education Program Supervisor in Values Education, Judith B. Abellaneda took the lead for the three-day QA activity. DepEd Memorandum No. 884, s. 2024 provides interim guidelines for the quality assurance of professional development programs for teachers and school leaders, ensuring that these programs meet specific standards. Quality Assurance and Accountability Framework (QAAF) adopted through DepEd Order No. 44, s. 2010, QAAF serves as a framework for assessing quality system performance and establishing public service quality standards.
