THREE community-based livelihood associations in Tagbilaran City have officially begun their journey under the Shell LiveWIRE for Community Enterprises program, as the 12-day Training Seminar on the Community Enterprise Development Program (CEDP) kicked off on June 9, 2025.
The initiative is led by the Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI) in close coordination with the City Government of Tagbilaran through the City Livelihood and Community Development Unit (CLCDU), headed by Ms. Adelfa Salutan.
The participating livelihood groups include the Cogon Women’s Association, J & J Desserts of Barangay Cogon, and the Tagbilaran City Garments Manufacturer’s Association.
These organizations were selected to join the fourth batch of the national Shell LiveWIRE program, which equips grassroots enterprises with essential business skills and offers mentorship and funding opportunities.
Throughout the training, participants will undergo sessions on ideation, business model creation, vision-mission-goal (VMG) formulation, financial planning, basic bookkeeping, and marketing.
At the end of the 12-day program, each group will present their outputs and pitch innovative business ideas.
Selected enterprises will receive grant funding from PSFI to help realize and scale their business plans.
In her message of support, Mayor Jane Yap commended the partnership and encouraged the beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity.
“This program empowers our local entrepreneurs and community organizations to dream bigger and build stronger. By investing in their growth, we’re also investing in the future of our city’s economy. I thank Pilipinas Shell Foundation for bringing this opportunity to Tagbilaran and reaffirm our city’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable development,” she said.
This collaboration underscores Tagbilaran City’s ongoing commitment to supporting local enterprises and creating more economic opportunities at the grassroots level.
