
BACLAYON, Bohol – The coastal barangay Montana this municipality, marks its annual fiesta in honor of its patron saint, San Antonio de Padua with the Panagat festival cultural dance competition, Barangay chair and now municipal Kagawad-elect Rosendo “Sendoy Guingguing said in his short speech.
Guingguing pointed out that the celebration is not only to mark the meaningful day for kins to meet, but a thanksgiving and called his constituents for unity and expressed gratitude for the trust they entrusted to him as the new kagawad-elect of the town led by reelected Mayor Atty. Alvin Uy.
Days prior to the celebration, the barangay launched the Panagat festival in a cultural dance presentation and contest.
Clustered Puroks 6&7 contingent won as grand champion of said competition and harvested other minor awards: Best in Musicality, Best in Choreography and Best in Costume.
Clustered Puroks 8&9 pocketed the first runner-up and adjudged as Best in props.
Clustered Puroks 2&10 as the second runner-up and clustered Puroks 1&5 as Most disciplined contingent.
The program started with a prayer thru Kag. Arlen t. Guigayoma and hymns by Kag. Lucila T. Salamat with words of welcome by first kagawad and soon to assume as new barangay chair Concordio T. Batilong.
Congressman-elect Baba Yap was represented by his aide de camp, while Cong. Edgar Chatto and Gov. Aris Aumentado, who were earlier invited to grace the event just sent congratulatory messages.
Kagawad Christopher Talagsa closed the program as Mr. Henry Tahil and Ms. Maria Jessica Malicse served as the masters of the ceremony. (rvo)
