Elias J. TV, a no-show in Bilar; mayor disgusted

PALACIO

MAYOR Norman “Tata” Palacio, in behalf of Bilar town constituents, expressed disappointment over the apparent failure of the most-sought performer Elias J. TV to stage on May 16, 2025 a paid entertainment show as part of the town fiesta on May 15, 2025.

But Elias personally apologized in a live announcement on his facebook account to the townsfolk and the mayor for his and company’s delayed flight from Manila, which he said he was not in control of the situation.

The Bilar-supposed show was not the only which experienced the non-showing of Elias J. TV, like the Mogbongcogon, Banaybanay, Davao Oriental on May 15, 2025, in which the said barangay invited him for the entertainment, also suffering the same fate.

Palacio said that the town was already very prepared for the most-awaited show but to no avail because of the flight delay. He said he announced an official statement in the name of his office to apparently appease the audience on the show.

The mayor said that he already contacted Elias J. TV as early as February to perform in Bilar with a downpayment to seal the contract. But it was later changed for the rates of his show was altered. Palacio agreed and bought plane tickets for the 15 entourage of Elias J. TV supposedly from Surigao where they apparently had a show there.

This time it increased, but still the mayor agreed just to bring Elias J. TV to Bilar despite the allegation that Elias’ group came from Manila. But still, Elias and company did not show up.

Just recently, Provincial Board Member Atty. Jamie Villamor denounced the alleged jokes in entertainment by a certain Elias Lintucan, a.k.a. Elias J. TV.

Villamor said in her facebook post, “As someone who has spent years fighting for the protection of children and justice for victims, I strongly condemn the recent so-called “jokes” made by Elias during his performance.”

She said that the remarks made by Elias suggest or make light of rape, violence, or pedophilia— particularly those targeting children. These subjects are not, and will never be, appropriate material for humor. These are not only deeply disturbing—they are unacceptable by every legal, moral, and human standard.”

“Joking about the sexual abuse or exploitation of children is not comedic; it is dangerous. Such statements do not only disrespect countless survivors who are in deep trauma but also perpetuate and contribute to a culture that normalizes, trivializes and dismisses abuse and exploitation. This behavior must be recognized for what it is: harmful, irresponsible, and a direct affront to the dignity and safety of children everywhere, she said.

“I call on Elias and the Management to take responsibility and accountability for his actions, and to take meaningful steps to educate himself on the gravity of this issue.”

Elias is a native of the Manobo tribe in Magpit, North Cotabato. He is not only a frontman of the reggae Kalumad Band but also an influential vlogger. His mother is working in the Middle East at present after his father’s left eye was hit by a bullet of his hunting gun fueled by pellets. He has a three-old son with her live-in partner, a teacher, according to Chito Samontan’s live online interview.

Sunstar Davao reported that Elias “issued a public apology through his Facebook page “Elias J. Tv” following a backlash over a viral video where he made a controversial “ayaw kol” joke. The remark was widely criticized online, with some viewers pointing out its offensive nature, particularly to survivors of abuse.”

In his statement, Elias said the incident serves as a lesson for him to be more cautious with his words moving forward.

Elias and his group reportedly have a new management. Their group is seeking the help of their friend to manage as the group is on the verge of alleged split due to issues from money matters to accountability.

Elias and his gang just mounted an entertainment before a mammoth crowd after the proclamation rally of councilor and now come-backing Mayor Nila Montero and her slate in Panglao Plaza recently. (rvo)
