VDT and BWS reign supreme in 2nd Saulog Quiz Bee

THE 2nd Saulog Quiz Bee, held on March 19, 2025, at the Bohol Cultural Center, once again highlighted the academic excellence of Tagbilaran City’s young minds.

Organized by the City Government of Tagbilaran as part of the Saulog celebration, the competition reaffirmed its reputation as the city’s premier digitalized quiz event, drawing participation from various schools.

Unlike traditional quiz bees, the Saulog Quiz Bee is like no other—a fully digitalized competition designed to meet international standards.

This innovative format has transformed the event into a smarter, faster, and more dynamic battle of the minds, enhancing the overall experience for both participants and spectators.

This year’s competition saw Victoriano D. Tirol Advanced Learning Center (VDT) and Bohol Wisdom School (BWS) dominate the contest, emerging as champions in their respective categories.

VDT claimed the top spot in the English, Science & Mathematics category, represented by Abiah Cris Salces, James Timothy  Florenosos, Janrito Jydan Palma, and John Rhaine Pesquira, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Maribeth Dusal Alpuerto, PhD, and Coach Ian Garcia.

Meanwhile, BWS secured second place, with Tagbilaran City Science High School finishing third place.

In the Bohol Culture, History & Tourism category, Bohol Wisdom School continued its winning streak from last year with a stellar performance from Mark Yosef Mahinay, Rey Maiko Varquez, Noah Ivan Trajano, and Kriszelle Elyas Dango, coached by Kristhel Reyes and led by Principal rs. Norberta Romo, MAed, SE.

Holy Name University claimed the first runner-up position, while VDT secured second runner-up.

The participating schools this year were Manga National High School, Bohol Wisdom School, VDT Advanced Learning Center, Grace Christian School, Cogon National High School, Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School, Bohol Institute of Technology, Tagbilaran City Science High School, Holy Name University, Mansasa National High School, Bohol Child Head Start, St. Therese School, Holy Trinity School, Holy Spirit School, San Isidro National High School, and GreatMinds.
