Abijilan High Sch. paper is reg, ’l presscon champ

G-HERNANDEZ, Bohol – The Abijilan High school student-writers’ unwavering dedication, hard work and passion indeed have paid off when they were proclaimed as champ as Best School paper in Region VII in regional campus press conference in Siquijor lately.

The paper’s victory is their ticket to the national presscon derby.

What made them such? Consider these feats: 1st Place – News Section; 2nd Place – Editorial Section; 4th Place – Feature Section; 5th Place – Sports Section; and 9th Place – Layout and Page Design. In English category: 7th Place – Feature Writing; 10th Place – News Writing.

The contest is by section, submitting articles in each section with different writers. There 13 news articles, 14 editorial articles, 6 Feature articles, 10 sports articles as their entries t the contest. The writers of Filipino were the same in English division, Racines said. (rvo)
