
LIFE-LONG learning is an essential aspect of an individual’s life that enhances knowledge, skills, and abilities across various domains. In today’s fast-paced and ever-changing world, life-long learning is crucial due to: rapid technological advancements; increasing competition in the workforce; and emerging new skills and knowledge required in various industries, companies, and agencies.
Last February 12, 2025, an Orientation on Management of Learning Resources, was conducted at Metro Center, Tagbilaran City. This was led by the very competent Education Program Supervisor (EPSvr) Josephine D. Eronico PhD.
The one-day activity started with preliminary activities (singing of hymns and prayer) through multimedia. EPSvr Generosa Castillo PhD, gave a welcome address. PSDS Diodora Gabito PhD, President of the LR Coordinators, recognized the participants. A message of support from Governor Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado, was given by his representative, Mr. Metodio B. Maraginot Jr., Supervising Administrative Officer Office of the Governor.
Important concepts were given emphasis by Mr. Maraginot in his message: there is a need to consider, “capacity first before opportunity”; Bohol is the first and only UNESCO Geographical recognized area; proposals should be responsive to the needs of DepEd; put the resources, where the need is ; and “we come together, and we work together”.
Teresa Aureus, Sr, Business Manager, Cenage Learning Area National Geographic Learning, handled the session proper, focused on “Digital On-boarding”. The major concepts discussed were: some issues in digitization (right resources, right tools, right time); different types of digital learning resources (eBook, digital libraries; Interactive Contents; quizzes and games, Simulations/virtual, multimedia videos, Animating, Collaborative Tools: Zoom, Google Meet/Classroom, Microsoft Teams; Online Database; Learning Management Systems: Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas; and Open Educational Resources
Miss Aureus gave emphasis that there is a need to “bring the world to classrooms, and bring the classroom to life.
