Magna Carta of Tricycle Drivers and Operators: APROBADO NA!

Christian Tell Yap, Congw. Marlyn Primicias-Agabas, Congw. Rosemarie Panotes, Congw. Ria Vergara ug Cong. Patrick Michael ‘PM’ Vargas.

“This is a landmark transport sector legislation because it finally establishes order and standards for the tricycle sector which has lacked common rules for many decades now. I credit Transportation Committee Chairman Romeo for his leadership because he was the shepherd of this bill in the House,” suma pa ni Congw. Alexie sa iyang pamahayag.

Ang kongresista sa Tersiero distrito ang Chairperson sa House Committee on Civil Service and Professional Regulation.

“This bill is especially important for the tricycle sector in the provinces in the Visayas, Luzon, and even in Mindanao. Tricycles are the major public transport of the poor in the countryside and main source of livelihood for millions of poor and low-income Filipino families. There are more tricycles than public utility jeepneys here in Bohol and nationwide,” dugang pa niya.

“The proposed bill requires SSS and PhilHealth membership for the tricycle sector, personal accident insurance, comprehensive third-party liability coverage, tricycle operating requirements, phase-in of more efficient engines, impounding of tricycles, and rights and benefits of tricycle sector workers,” dugang pa ni Congw. Alexie.

(Kahlil Lester O. Camba)
