“IN Him nothing is impossible”.
Short Cuts met this five-word sentence when he was still in his youthful days as a fourth-grade pupil at age ten. It was in his religion class that he heard this very emphatic statement from a lady religion teacher.
But this group of words could hardly be understood by young pupils like Short Cuts and his classmates during that particular year. So that it just entered into Short Cuts’ right ear and easily passed into his left ear. Even a bit of importance could not easily be derived upon hearing the statement.
Not until the year when Short Cuts opened a tertiary school in the city in the early “80s. As the founder and administrator of the newly established school, he met a very serious administrative problem.
At the start, the same problem seemed to be without solution. Despite of that, however, Short Cuts went to the national office in Manila if only approach the national officials of the department for a solution.
But, even how much Short Cuts pleaded for its solution, higher officials of the department never gave up and were firm in their decision.
Therefore, with a broken heart Short Cuts left the national office and was trudging the streets of the city without any purpose or plan to go to a specific address. And in Short Cuts almost two hours of foot travel in the different city streets, he accidentally passed by Quiapo Church.
Upon seeing the Quiapo Church, his inner self seemed to be jolted with a new feeling of change. He felt as if someone was touching him to enter the gates of the Church.
It was such a hair-raising experience that happened in Short Cuts’ life!
With a renewed feeling inspired by the Heavenly touch, Short Cuts did enter the Church.
And, you know what happened next?
Short Cuts was terribly shocked to know later on that he was already at the altar of the Quiapo Church. Unknowingly, he travelled from the entrance of the Church by bended knees.
And right at the altar, Short Cuts was provided by Him with a Heavenly solution to the problem!
Indeed, “In Him nothing is impossible”.
The tragedy that happened at Los Angeles, California recently is more than revealing.
One could just imagine why a residential house remained untouched by the devastating wildfires that hit the city. While the same residential house was surrounded with many residential houses that were all burned, that same house stood intact. Not even the paints of the same residential house were destroyed.
And, for the information of everyone, that same house is accordingly loaded with statue of different saints.
Another miracle!
One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church in the middle of the wildfires at Los Angeles remained intact.
