Serving ASF – laced food untrue, restaurant claims

THE spread of the dreaded African Swine Flu (ASF) may be as fast as the wild claims that some restaurants serve food with ASF infected, if not double-dead meat.

This serious allegation such as those posted by “Voice of Boholanon,” on facebook account, which did not bother to present pieces of evidence, has caused a stir.

Panglao-based resto, Wat the Fud (posted by Vanessa Cubrado) has issued clarification for the public may know the real score.

It said that it’s aware of circulating claims that a samgyupsal restaurant in Bohol is allegedly serving pork that is double-dead or infected with ASF (African Swine Fever). It urged everyone to approach such statements with caution and verify the facts before spreading unverified information that can harm businesses and livelihoods.

“In WTF ALONA, we take food safety and quality seriously. Meat is sourced from trusted and certified suppliers who comply with strict safety and quality standards. WAT THE FUD ALONA also follows proper food handling protocols to ensure the health and satisfaction of their customers.

To reassure the public:

• Meat suppliers for reputable establishments are vetted and certified.

• Proper documentation and certifications can be presented to authorities for transparency.

• No legitimate complaints or official reports from authorities have been made to support these claims.

WTF “encourages everyone to be responsible in sharing information and to support businesses that uphold the highest standards of quality and safety.”

ASF has spread up to Trinidad town after Ubay, Pilar, San Miguel, Batuan and Carmen towns. (rvo)
