Bohol COVID vaccination coverage still at 64.04%

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) — Bohol vaccination teams injected nearly 5000 coronavirus disease (COVID) vaccine doses in three days, bringing the total vaccine coverage accomplishment to 64.04%.

Health authorities here have in the master list of eligible individuals for vaccination some 1,106,084, this comprises the 80% of the local population which they deemed to be the number which men covered by the vaccine, ushers Bohol to its herd immunity threshold. 

So far, some 1,487,282 Boholanos have been given the vaccines, nearly half of them already with complete protection and are again eligible for the first booster and second booster shots.

In a report shared by the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (BIATF) April 11, it said there are now 708,303 Boholanos who have been given the two doses of the vaccine that affords full protection against a severe attack of the virus that causes the disease.

This is some 2,609 individuals more from the 705,694 who were reported to have been inoculated completely last April 8.

Another 1,672 individuals have also been added to the list of those who have been given their first doses during the last three days, the count of which now has reached 700,699.

Those with booster shots also increased to 78,280, some 696 individuals more from the 77,584 which were in the list.

In the last three days too, the national government through the Department of Health delivered to Bohol an additional 50,000 doses of the Pfizer COVID vaccines, as to the BIATF report.

This brings to Bohol some 1,930,262 doses of the vaccines since March 6 of last year when the first batch of vaccines arrived in the province.

Of that number, with a total of 1,487,282 already dispensed, this leaves Bohol some 442,000 vaccine doses in its cold storage facilities while heath authorities are expected to take the Holy Week break.  (rahc/PIA-7/Bohol)
