SK Chairperson Herben Rhoy G. Ranay from Poblacion, Talibon, Bohol was named recently as one of the recipient of the National Youth Commission search for the Outstanding Sangguniang Kabataan. 1000 SK Chairperson delegates from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and the only awardee from Central Visayas Region attended the 2022 SK National Summit.
SK Ranay and the rest of the SK Poblacion council helped as data encoders during the National Vaccinations Days last November 29, 30, December 1, 28, 29, and 30 at the Municipality of Talibon, where the National Youth Commission calls all SK Units to mobilize the young leaders to participate in #KabataanMayJabGoodJob National Vaccination Days.
The 25-year-old SK Chairperson initiated to provide relief packs to 1200 families in barangay Poblacion; which he was able to mobilize 100 young people; distributed 30 units of Pocket Wifi to 30 indigenous and deserving high school students in his barangay; launched and implemented the Project Green Garden where all the puroks in Poblacion harvested vegetables for the residents of the puroks and awarded households who are also implementing the said project.
Ranay also initiated the BAYANI KA! Bayanihan sa Kanto Community Pantry during the surge of COVID 19, conducted non-contact sports during the Linggo ng Kabataan 2020 and 2021, awarded Young Leaders who made exemplary contributions during the Pandemic last 2021. He passed four ordinances such as the Pandemic and All Hazardous Preparedness Ordinance, the Poblacion Youth Code, the PEEAP or the Padayon Eskwela Educational Assistance Program, the Poblacion KK ID, raised funds for the evacuees, and distributed more than 200 relief packs to 200 families in the Poblacion who were significantly affected by Super Typhoon Odette.
His COVID 19 initiatives earned his spot as one of the National Youth Commission recipients for the Outstanding Sangguniang Kabataan.
