I would have wanted to hear the “deskurso de kumbati” of Loboc Mayor Leon Calipusan last week in Valencia but time constraints prevented me from doing so. It was already very late in the evening so I had to leave the place.
At any rate, I had an earful of the kumbati de deskurso of Congressman Alexie Tutor so we shall have it for our pulutan.

We all know that she is challenged by outgoing Valencia Mayor Katkat Lim in her reelection bid as congressman of the 3rd district of Bohol.
And true enough, sparks flew left and right during the campaign sorties, with Katkat Lim questioning her accomplishments for 3 years as representative of the 3rd district of Bohol.
Of course, she could only do that, meaning – question Tutor’s accomplishments – because there is no issue of corruption or graft cases against Tutor, so she has no other choice.
Adto na lang siya mo-birada sa mga nahimo o wa mahimo ni Tutor.

Wrong choice, I suppose.
Why?
Because she failed to consider the saying that when you live in a glass house, you should not throw stones.
Meaning, kon molabay ka og bato, labayon pod ka og bato, that simple.
And that’s exactly what happened.
Unlike her predecessor, who could only narrate of meager accomplishments, Cong. Tutor has a parade of infra and non-infra improvements in her district. So she narrated all her accomplishments in the district.
But she didn’t stop there because there is really no basis for comparison between her accomplishments in the district and Katkat Lim’s accomplishments as mayor.
So she made a comparison between Valencia and Candijay.

As backgrounder, it is important to note that Valencia, on one hand, has been placed under the Lim Family administration for more than 30 years, starting from Conching Lim, Pablo Lim, Henhen Gan and recently the outgoing Katkat Lim.
Candijay, on the other hand, has been administered by the Tutor Family thru Mayor Christopher Tutor (Alexie’s husband) for mere 9 years.
Now, compare Valencia and Candijay, Tutor dared the Valencianhons last week.
And she delivered a step by step assessment of the goodies delivered by her husband in Candijay, even during the post-Odette period, as compared to the almost zero record of the Lim’s in Valencia.
Well, naa god pod tingali nahimo ang mga Lims, but not as much as the Tutors in Candijay.
Miuswag ba ang Valencia sa kadugay nga panahon nga gi-monopoliya sa mga sakop sa Lim Family ang pagmando niini?
Aw buyno, tungod pod sa mga Lim Family, where Katkat Lim is a member, na-ilado pod ang Valencia.
