VP Duterte brings hope for Bohol 170th year celebration

VICE-President Sara Duterte made true her previous statement not to attend the SONA of President Bongbong Marcos and instead went to Bohol for a visit to personally condole with the bereaved family of Vice Gov. Dionisio Victor Balite Monday afternoon, July 22, the 170th foundation day of the province.

Balite, 52, died on July 17 from a lingering ailment.

“July 22 nandito ako ngayon sa Bohol I want to symphatize sa mga Boholanos sa pagkamatay sa kanilang Vice Governor. I also wanted to lighten, uplift the mood of Boholanos especially sa suspension sa kanilang duly elected officials,” Duterte told reporters in a brief huddle.

According to Bohol Island News, Duterte said she brings with her a message of hope for Boholanos who marked the 170th founding of the province.

“Of course, it’s Bohol Day, I am bringing message of hope sa mga Boholanos na kaya natin magtulungan na magiging maayos ang bayan natin.”

Duterte said she did not attend nor watch the State of SONA of the President.

“No, busy ako sa mga activities dito sa Bohol,” Duterte, who reportedly arrived in the morning yesterday, said. (rvo)
