THE people in Bohol community paid tribute to Vice-Guv Dionisio Victor A. Balite, 52, who died in a hospital in the city, by articulating eulogy as a way mourning of his passing.
A throng of friends, supporters, relatives paid a visit at a vigil at the new Capitol building on July 24 till the noon of the following day where his remains were placed at the vigil.
Balite was laid to rest on July 26 in the afternoon at the Victoria’s Memorial Park ater the holy mass at the City Cathedral.
Gov. Aris Aumenado said in his fb post, “KANUNAY NGA NAA KA SA AMONG KASINGKASING VICE GOV. DIONISIO VICTOR BALITE BISAN PA MAN SA IMONG PAGBIYA. Sa among pagbisita ni Congresswoman Van-van uban sa among mga anak, sa haya ni Vice Gov. Dionisio Victor Balite, sa BIT-IC Dao Chapel, dili kapugngan nga natandog ang atong kasingkasing kay nahinumdum na usab kita, kung unsa ka maayo ang atong bise gobernador sa iyang pag-alagad sa Gobyerno ug sa iyang paghigugma sa katawhang Bol-anon. Vice Gov., sa kanunay, ang imong ngalan ug mga handumanan, magpabilin sa among panumduman, bisan pa man sa imong pagbiya. Mga pahasubo sa pamilya Balite.
Former governor Arthur C. Yap had this to say: “Paying our last respects to the late Vice Gov. Victor A. Balite. Vice Governor Balite was, for a time, acting Vice Governor during my term as Chief Executive of Bohol. Those were the difficult Covid years. I will always remember him and thank him for his service to our people.”
Senator Francis Tolentino was here last week to pay respects to the late Vice-Guv. Dionisio Victor A. Balite during his wake at the SP Session Hall of the new Capitol.
On the night of July 24, the SP members led by acting vice governor BM Benjie Arcamo with the presence of acting governor Tita V. Baja and Capitol employees participated in the necrological services for Balite.
“Capitol employees, deeply saddened by his passing, remember him as a selfless and dedicated public servant who tirelessly served the province of Bohol, where he last served as the Acting Governor of the province,” said the post of the provincial government fb.
“While Bohol has lost a great leader, his legacy remains and will go beyond in action as the Aumentado-Balite administration’s Abante Bohol vision continues to thrive.” (rvo)
