GARCIA-HERNANDEZ, Bohol – The people of this limestone-rich town has tendered a warm welcome to the achievement of Carl Joellie Tejano Tentativa, the first Garcianhon to garner Miss Bohol 2024 crown during her homecoming.

Mayor Jess Baja, other officials and supporters/fans warmly welcome Tentativa by parading her from end to end of the town’s coastal borders of Valencia to the west and Jagna to the east and a short program followed held at the town’s cultural/sports center. After which, Tentativa graced the blessing of the new municipal hall building situated in public market’s lot in West Poblacion.

It’ll be recalled that Tentativa nailed it when she fairly responded to the question, “If crowned Miss Bohol 2024, how would you encourage local communities to actively participate in the conservation of Bohol as a UNESCO Global Geopark for the benefit of future Boholano generations?”

“I’m gonna convince the community tonight, right here, right now in the Miss Bohol stage (that) the designation of Geopark is very telling of the undeniable beauty of Bohol and the rich culture of the Boholanos so let’s all be committed because this is our culture. We should be proud so that we can all be aware and unanimous in showing the world the beauty of Bohol and ensuring the preservation for the next generation and for the rest of the world to enjoy,” Khem Pendejito, cited her answer during the said program, in which he served as the master of ceremony.

Tentativa, 23 and a licensed nurse here and New York, also bested 15 other contenders in Best In Interview during a closed door fashion. She broke Tagbilaran’s domination in producing Miss Bohol.

Acting vice-governor Senior Board member Tita V. Baja, Mayor Jess Baja and officials, who attended and cheered during the duration of the coronation on July 12, expressed elation and congratulations to Tentativa’s feat.

Mayor Baja in his speech said the town is proud to have Tentativa to win the most-coveted crown in the province.

He said in interview that Tentativa was almost enticed to represent Loay town upon the prodding of Mayor Hilario Ayuban. He said that even though the town has seemed to be no budget for it he tried his best that Garcia-Hernandez be represented. He saw the potentials in Tentativa. And he was not mistaken, he said, since sacrifices and strong support of the town bear fruit.

Vice-Mayor Antonia Ladaga said in her speech she’s also elated of Tentativa’s achievement, thanking those who threw support for the quest of Tentativa.

Fans and supporters rushed to Tentativa for photo opportunity after the program.

The most important part is that Tentativa uttered words of gratitude to all who made her quest for the crown a reality. (rvo)
