Mayor Cepedoza leads 63rd Danao township celebration

DEVELOPMENT and result-oriented municipal Mayor Jose G. Cepedoza led the celebration of the 63rd township in a merry atmosphere during the program held at the town’s gymnasium on July 9, 2024 attended by a throng of townsfolk.

In this big event, the mayor delivered his State of the Municipality Address (SOMA), detailing how his administration struggle and worked hard and achieved what the people are now enjoying.  He thanked municipal officials and employees and the cooperation of the people of this landlocked municipality to achieve what they dreamed of.

The celebration was not without the presence of provincial bigwigs in the persons of Congresswoman Vanvan C. Aumentado, Vice-Gov. Dionisio Victor A. Balite (as acting governor), provincial Board Member Jamie Villamor, Pres. Carlos P. Garcia Mayor Fernando “Eping” Estavilla and visitors.

Balite said in his short speech that Danao people should to be grateful for having a local chief executive who is pro-development and the tangible projects they now enjoyed, like the Danao Technological College built in their midst, are where their taxes go.

Congw. Aumentado expressed gratitude to Danao officials for the invitation and urged the townsfolk to unite for the betterment of the town.

The mayor said that he tried his best for the well-being of his constituency in the field attending their needs in the field of social and health, infrastructure needs, education and other spheres of development to improve the lot of the people here.

A day prior (July 8), Mayor Cepedoza led the blessing of vehicles and heavy equipment and ground-breaking rites of the infrastructure.

Blessed were the backhoe, a tractor, service vehicles for the Danao Adventure Park (DAP) and municipal hall and two units of motorcycles.

The mayor and officials also inaugurated the newly-refurbished PNP kitchen and blessing of the rehabilitated block tiendas at the new public market location, just near the municipal hall in barangay Población.

He also led the way for the groundbreaking rites of the Machinery Shred House nearby the market, construction of the 2-storey 4-classroom building and 2-storey building to house the science and speech laboratory of the town’s three-year old college as required.

Other blessing and groundbreaking ceremonies in the barangays have also taken place attended by assigned municipal councilors and officials, the mayor said.

Truly, the celebration reflects the town’s theme this year’s celebration: “Hiniusang Damgo ug Paningkamot, Kalambuan sa Lungsod Makab-ot.”

The big celebration started on July 4 with Dagon sa Hoyohoy Fun run with personnel of MDRRMO, MENRO, BFP, PNP, MHO and Crisanto Trazo. It’s followed the next day (July 5) with Quiz Bee and surgical, dental, surgery therapy mission; July 6 to 7 – launching of the Agri-Fair; July 8 – Blessing of LGU’s projects and Pasalamat (Thanksgiving), honoring retirees and Saluds Night; and July 9 – the program and exhibition game PNP against LGU players.
